Habitat for Humanity International


1998-2000. Served as a part-time volunteer with annual Jimmy Carter Work Projects and blitz builds from 1998-2001 in the Philippines, Romania, Nepal, Ghana, and South Korea and Hurricane Mitch recovery in Honduras efforts while also doing consulting work. Received Habitat for Humanity’s “President’s Circle” honor. Served with International Committee of the Red Cross, as a volunteer science news reporter for CNN, and as a health correspondent in South Africa covering post-apartheid public health problems in 1998; taught HIV/AIDS prevention to local students in Cape Town.
